On Saturday May 28, Roffey Football Club will be hosting the first annual tournament for footballers in the under-11 and under-12 age groups.

In addition, his family has set up a memorial fund in Mr Lucas’ name - which will benefit grassroots youth football in the Horsham area.

Clubs will have the opportunity to apply to the fund to contribute to the cost of new equipment, training, membership subscriptions and more.

Organiser Toni Jeal said: “We hope that the local football clubs will support this tournament as they could be in need to come to the fund in the future.”

The tournament will raise money for his memorial fund.

Mr Lucas was a pedestrian when he was involved in the crash with a silver Mercedes-Benz at about 1am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, which happened at the A264’s junction with Old Holbrook.
