Crawley Town’s new director Matt Turner wants to hear from anyone with ideas of how to increase gates.
Having grown up in the town he is in the thick of business and feels he can make changes in the right direction to help the Reds.
He said: “I’m heavily involved in the local business community. The football club plays a big part in the wider community. I have lots of local contacts and would like to know how we can improve the match day experience and really get the gates up.
“There are still a proportion of people who think Crawley Town are Non-League and cannot believe we are anywhere near being in the same league as Brighton such is our rapid rise.”
Turner said: “I call fans to bring your friends and give them the opportunity to see what is here.
“This is the only way to compete with the larger clubs.
“I want to engage actively with the fans and want to make it a positive experience. I would like the fans to get behind the club and get behind the team.”
Former Hazelwick pupil Turner, 30, runs two successful businesses based on Manor Royal in Crawley.
Creative Pod, an award winning design marketing and print agency who are also the back of shirt sponsors for the club, and Young Start-up Talent, a community based entrepreneurial initiative that inspires 16-25-year-olds to start their first business which offers a £50k prize fund.
Michael Dunford, CEO of Crawley Town, said: “We are proud to invite Matt to be a member of the board.
“He brings a wealth of local knowledge, contacts and marketing clout to the club and has solid and robust plans for the future.”
Matt’s first experience with the club was age 10 when he used to watch the Red Devils at Town Mead.
It means a lot for Matt to join the board.
He said: “Being invited to join the board is an extremely proud and nostalgic moment for me.
“As a sponsor and fan of the club I feel I am perfectly positioned to help improve and enhance the profile of the club as well as fan engagement.
“I would love to hear from any of the supporters who have any constructive comments or ideas – please tweet me @MattTurnerPod or email email@example.com”
Matt’s objectives are to improve the club’s image and marketing profile along with increasing gate numbers.
