Music and games at charity night

Live music and summer time fun and games are on the lineup at an event by Horsham’s Butterfly Project this month.

Butterfly Project manager Richard James told the County Times: “The people that attend the day service have the opportunity to partake in activities.

“For example: paper rounds, music workshops, metalwork, woodwork, work skills training and much more.”

They also help to promote events which the Butterfly Project puts on - three major events are planned for this year, starting with Fun in the Sun this month.

“In addition to this the group also take part in the running of the event by choosing themes, running the door, manning the food/bar and playing the music,” said Richard.

“These experiences give them the chance to be a valuable team member and feel part of something great that they created.”

The group is looking for volunteers to help them run the event on the day.

Fun in the Sun will be held at Horsham Youth Centre in Hurst Road, from 7pm to 10pm on June 29.

Attractions include a live band, DJing, arts and crafts, and prize competitions.

If weather permits, there will be a barbecue and five-a-side football.

Entry is £3, free for support workers .
