HORSHAM MP Francis Maude officially opened the Dauxwood Nursery School building in Billingshurst on Friday afternoon.
The pre-school underwent a monumental make-over during summer holiday period after a capital grant was awarded to Dauxwood enabling the previous building to be demolished and a new school to be built on the same site in Natts Lane by Homelodge Buildings Ltd.
Mr Maude said: “I was thrilled to be invited to officially open Dauxwood Pre-School’s new building.
“The weather failed to dampen anyone’s spirits and the opening was a real community celebration.
“Dauxwood has been at the heart of Billingshurst for many years and it’s wonderful that children and staff are now able to work in such an impressive environment - I wish them all the best for the future.”
Dauxwood has also received substantial support from Billingshurst and District Lions Club to replace the frontage fencing to the school.
The pre-school is looking to develop its outdoor learning environment as well as increasing accessibility to toys and equipment for all children indoors by replacing existing furniture.
