Mother-of-three runner goes the extra mile to beat breast cancer

AFTER witnessing her aunt’s five year battle with cancer a Rudgwick woman is fighting her own battle for charity in the 2012 Brighton marathon.

Ursula Hillery, a 38-year-old mother-of-three, has chosen to take part in the 26.2 mile race in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

Despite excellent care and treatment, Ursula’s aunt developed further cancers making her situation untreatable.

Ursula, who is a teacher at St Hilary’s School, Godalming, will join thousands of other runners on the starting line in Brighton on Sunday April 15.

Ursula said: “I chose this charity as my family have been and are being affected by this dreadful disease.

“I’m running it for them to show my love and support and to help raise money so that a cure can be found to stop any other families having to live through the effects of this illness.”

Ursula will start her training by running the Surrey Spitfire 20, a 20 mile run at Dunsfold Park, Cranleigh, on Sunday March 18.
