Ronald Davey, 84, was last seen at 4pm on Sunday, September 20 leaving the Red Lyon pub on The Street in the village. However it is believed he never went home.

His family were worried about not having heard from him, and went round on Tuesday evening (September 22) around 10pm and found he was not home, but lights and his television were on and there was uncooked food in the oven.

Inspector Andy Sanford said: “We are extremeley concerned about Ronald as he has not been seen at all since Sunday and the fact that his dinner was waiting to be cooked in the oven, it seems he intended to go home.

“Ronald does have health concerns due to age including using a stick, pneumonia, and problems with his feet. He is described as white, around 5’ but walks with a stoop and has thinning grey hair and was last seen wearing black trousers, a brown anorak and canvas shoes.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw him on Sunday afternoon or knows where he might have gone. Anyone with information is urged to call us on 101 quoting serial 1349 of 22/09. Or if Ronald requires urgent medical attention 999.”
