Tegan, 21, from Comptons Lane, Horsham, aims to raise £2,000 in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society after being inspired by the daily struggle of the mother of her best friend who has suffered from MS for a number of years.

She said: “Running the Brighton Marathon will be my step in trying to help fund more researchers, to help notify people about MS and to show my support to people who are already suffering.”

Tegan, a former member of Horsham Air Cadets 1015 Squadron, spent last summer working in the US for Camp America after spending the previous year travelling around Australia. She plans to return to the US later this year.

Meanwhile, she is working at Horsham’s Capitol Theatre and the Conservatory Cafe in Horsham Park. Tegan is hosting an MS fundraiser at the cafe on Tuesday (February 27) from 7pm-9pm. Entry is £10 with a free glass of Prosecco and raffle ticket.

There will be a cake sale, guess the sweets in the jar, a £5 numbers board to win a cash prize, and more.

Meanwhile, while in training for the Brighton Marathon on April 15, Tegan will be taking part in the Thorpe Park half marathon next Tuesday (February 25).
