Jose Manuel will be taking the challenge on in memory of his mother, who passed away a few years ago.

Jose said: “I’m running the Brighton Marathon in April for Cancer Research UK, in memory of my mum Jane and step mum Viv, and everyone else affected by cancer.

“My mum was a really popular person where I grew up in Barns Green, just outside of Horsham.

“I first ran my first 10k in 2013, my first half marathon in 2014 and the full marathon last year.

“Within hours of completing the marathon I knew I had to do it again, and signed up for the 2016 race straight away!

“I raised £1,400 last year but am aiming to beat that and reach £2,000 this year, and my employer Gap will match it on top!

“My partner Vicky and my two sons Matthew and Leo have been helping me fundraise.

“And I am also going to be dressing up for a week at work in some crazy outfits, including 118!

“I feel so passionate about this cause and will do all that I can to raise every single pound possible.

“And if that means a few months of sore legs and early morning cold runs, who cares!

“That is nothing compared to what a cancer sufferer goes through every day.

“They don’t have a choice, but I do.”
