Man seriously injured after crash on A27 outside Chichester

Police are appealing for witnesses after a single-vehicle accident on the A27 left a man seriously injured this morning (Monday, June 22).

According to Sussex Police, a man is in a serious condition after a blue Ford KA was reportedly involved in a collision with a hedge' around 8.50am.

A spokesperson said: "A section of the westbound A27 at Tangmere is currently closed as emergency services respond to the incident. A diversion has been set up in the area in the meantime.

"Police are urging anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with dash cam footage, to email [email protected] quoting Operation Laker.

"The incident is ongoing and there is no further information at this stage."

According to Highways England, the road will be closed for a 'considerable time'.

The air ambulance was filmed leaving the scene after 12.30pm but, according to the AA, the road remains closed. However, traffic is said to be 'coping well', with a detour in operation.
