Man dies in hospital after road collision

A MAN who was injured when his car collided with a truck on the A24 at Dial Post, has died in hospital.

Christopher John Alderton, 30, of Suffolk was driving his blue Nissan Micra northbound on the A24 when it collided with a Renault recovery truck.

The crash happened at about 6.40pm on Friday January 14, near the Old Barn Nurseries.

The 48-year-old Worthing man driving the recovery truck was unhurt.

Mr Alderton was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious head injuries and later transferred to Hurstwood Park Hospital in Haywards Heath, where he remained until his tragic death.
