He appeared at Chichester Crown Court in handcuffs today, Monday, November 23, and did not speak.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear again in court in February next year.

Judge Christopher Parker QC said: “Mr Acott your next hearing will be on February 22, next year, and before then you will no doubt have further contact with your solicitors and an assessment on you will be carried out by a medical practitioner so a report can then be given to the solicitors in this case.

“My expectation on February 22 is that you will be asked to plead either guilty or not guilty.”
