Southern Rail has blamed an ‘operating incident’ at London Victoria station for causing travel delays across the network this afternoon (August 20).
Commuters are experiencing lengthy delays, with Southern Rail saying Network Rail were ‘on the case’.
“Speed restrictions have been imposed at London Victoria, causing delays of up to 30 minutes to trains to and from the station,” said Network Rail.
“There is no firm estimate yet of how long disruption will last but it is likely to continue until at least 2.45pm.
The Brighton to London line has experienced problems, with the train supposed to arrive in Victoria at 2.27pm currently reported to be between Burgess Hill and Gatwick Airport (2.31pm).
