A Littleworth pub has played its part in putting Formula One team Caterham on the grid for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.
The Windmill Inn, near Partridge Green, is amongst many companies and individuals sponsoring the financially-troubled racing team for the final race weekend of the season.
The pub logo will be appearing in prominent positions not only on the both of the team’s F1 cars but around the teams pit garages as well.
Landlord Charles New, who has invested-heavily in his 17th Century local after saving it from closure in January 2014, said: “We are very excited and so are all our locals.”
Caterham, who went into administration in October, were last on the grid at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi and missed the following two races in the United States and Brazil.
The team has, however, managed to raise £1.8 million pounds over the last ten days via the Crowdcube crowdfunding page.
They have been offering sponsorship opportunities for as little as £5 for a badge, hundreds of pounds for driver’s clothing and into the thousands for pieces of the car and advertising packages.
