Lions deliver some little extras at Christmas time

CHANCTONBURY Lions Club delivered more than 60 food parcels giving those who need it some little extras.

They distributed the 63 parcels to the WRVS, a volunteers and charity work organisation, for distribution to people in Storrington, Pulborough, Ashington and Washington who receive daily ‘meals on wheels’.

This is the fourth year the Lions have linked up with WRVS to provide some of those extras that most of us take for granted at Christmas.

The Waitrose store in Storrington helped the club to raise some of the money for the parcels by allowing them to be included in their Community Matters Scheme in November, which raised £590.

The Lions Club wanted to thank the public ‘who have supported us fantastically in 2011, as they have done in previous years, donating and buying books from us’.
