St Mary’ Church will organise drop in lunches on Saturdays during Lent from 12 – 2pm at the Church Centre in The Barn on the Causeway.
Open to all they are necessarily frugal but social in nature and an opportunity to support this year’s DEC Ebola appeal.
Operating as a drop-in café, the meal consists of soup, bread and cheese accompanied by salad with fruit, coffee or tea for afters. A Lenten feast!
Starting from Saturday 21 February and continuing until Saturday 28 March, no booking is necessary and all are welcome to come in and enjoy this opportunity for fellowship in exchange for a donation which will go towards this year’s charity appeal – DEC Ebola appeal.
Note that on Saturday 21st March, St. Mary’s will offer a children’s Lenten lunch, catered for by the children from the church. They will also organise a bake sale at this lunch to raise additional funds for Casa Luz, a Peruvian orphanage supported by the Horsham-based Condor Vision Trust.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to serve others and to be involved in an event which is supported by the whole church and raises awareness of others’ needs,” explained Fiona Prentice, children’s coordinator at St. Marys.
