A Level results at the College of Richard Collyer

The College of Richard Collyer reported some outstanding performances in today's A level results.

Holly Schofield bagged a place at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, where she will read History.

Staff said her grades (four A*s and an A) were the best that year, but Holly said she was just happy to have got the grades she needed.

“That’s not what I’m concentrating on,” she said.

“It’s so exciting to be able to come here and celebrate with friends.”

Holly said getting her grades had been a team effort, with support from her family and friends playing an important role.

“The college is a really supportive place,” she added.

“I owe my grades to them as much as anything else - I’m just the one taking credit.”

Also singled out for a special mention was Emma Jolliffe. Not only had she got into Loughborough University to study Maths and Management, but the university had contacted her to say she was the best candidate for this year’s intake.

Other students who were pleased with their results included:

Molly, who achieved two A*s, an A and a C, which will get her into the University of Reading, to study Pharmacy.

Megan, with an A, a B, and a D, is also off to Reading for a degree in Maths.

Caragh, who said she was ‘very pleased’ to have got into Durham University to read Natural Sciences, thanks to her two A*s and two As.

Alisha exceeded her own expectations with an A* and two As, which will get her into Sussex University to study English with Media.

Bex, who got four As, will read Psychology at the Royal Holloway.
