Holders Loxwood under-18s booked their spot in the final of the Dennis Probee Youth Cup with a dramatic 3-2 extra-time win over Burgess Hill on Sunday.
The young Magpies will try and retain the Sussex Cup in March when they face either Horsham or Arundel - who play the other semi-final this weekend.
Loxwood were just seconds away from going out at Plaistow Road and only forced extra time through a dramatic equaliser from Harvey Enticknap after good work from Sam Beard, which turned out to be the final kick of the 90 minutes.
Deep in stoppage time he fired home after great work from Sam Beard after the Hillians had gone 2-1 up with nine minutes left.
Ollie Gill then netted an extra-time winner to send the Magpies through to the final. Loxwood had led early on through Rhyan Ramsey’s 25-yard wondergoal, before Burgess Hill equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Loxwood manager Mark Beard said: “I’ve been involved in lots of games, but I don’t think I have ever been involved in game quite like that. It was just when we thought it wasn’t going to be our year, but the boys we have got here never ever let us down. They have done it so many times, just kept playing and end up winning games late on.”
Last week, they also beat AFC Wimbledon 2-1 in a warm-up match for their full-time opponent’s FA Youth Cup game.
