Horsham centre-back Ash Jones declared their league success was a great reward for the supporters and the club.
The experienced defender lifted the Southern Combination League title for the third time, following successes at Crawley Down Gatwick and Peacehaven.
The 34-year-old also previously won the Ryman League South Division with the Magpies and spent last year playing in the Premier Division.
He has missed just three league games all season, making 34 appearances and as well as forming a formidable partnership with Charlie Farmer at the back, pitched in with four goals.
Jones said: “It just felt really good of how much it meant to the supporters. You can read all you like, but until you see their faces, you can’t tell. They had not won a trophy for a long, long time and to do that for them was great.
“I have never experienced support like it in all the years I have been playing.
“It was a brilliant day, a good result and a good performance to top off a really good season. I could not have asked for more.”
On next year, he added: “I have really enjoyed this season. It’s still early days as we haven’t finished this year, but everything is going in the right direction.
“The supporters have made a big difference and with Dom (Di Paola) and the management team, as long as we are competitive I cannot see myself going anywhere else.
“I love the club and I would like to give it a go.”
