Hywel Jones’ century was not enough to help Steyning to their first victory of the season on Saturday.
Jones hit a magnificent 133 not out from 154 balls as Steyning posted 240 for five in 52.5 overs.
However, Chichester finished their reply on 227-6 from 47 overs as the game finished in a draw.
After an opening-day defeat to Burgess Hill, Steyning have now drawn two successive games in Division 3 but skipper David Kennett has been pleased with his side’s performances so far.
He said: “We are obviously disappointed not to have won a game yet but we came up into this division and we knew that matches would be tough.
“I have been really pleased with the way we have played in the opening three games.
“I think it’s just a case of us getting a little more luck with the ball and that first win will not be to far away.
“It’s never easy when you gain promotion and face different opponents at a higher level.
“But in no game have we been totally outplayed, we just have not been able to get over that winning line. Hopefully that will change against Bognor Regis on Saturday.”
