RESIDENTS interested in outings to gardens are being invited to sign up for a coach trip being organised by a garden centre in the county.
Old Barn Nursery & Garden Centre is offering customers the chance to visit Exbury Gardens in Brockenhurst on May 25 accompanied by two members of staff from the garden centre.
Mig Ammolla, manager of the garden centre, at Dial Post, said: “This spectacular 200 acre woodland garden, which was created by Lionel de Rothschild in the early 20th century, is world famous for its collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and camellias.
“The garden offers a riot of colour in spring, an oasis of tranquility in summer followed by a splendid show as the leaves change in the autumn.
“Guests can discover Exbury’s hidden beauty as they explore a myriad of pathways.”
The coach will leave from Old Barn Nursery & Garden Centre at 9.30am on Wednesday May 25 and will return at around 5.30pm.
Muriel Williamson, administration manager at the garden centre, and Claire Blake-Rowland, garden centre assistant, will be on hand to answer any questions people may have while walking around the gardens.
Mig continued: “The price of the trip also includes afternoon tea on the return journey at our sister garden centre, Havant Garden Centre.
“We hope that lots of people will join us for what looks set to be an entertaining and inspirational day out.”
The coach will depart from Exbury Gardens at around 3.30pm and return to Old Barn Nursery & Garden Centre at approximately 5.30pm.
Tickets, which must be purchased in advance from the garden centre, cost £35 per person and include coach travel, entry to the gardens and traditional afternoon tea.
