Horsham District Council is participating in a national initiative to encourage park users in the Horsham District to complete a free online park health check to assess the health of their nearest local parks.
As part of Love Parks Week, which runs from July 21 to 29, GreenSpace, a national charity supporting parks, is asking residents to fill out the online park health check to see how local parks measure up across the country.
Users are asked to rate their local park for a range of criteria, such as how safe it is and if it feels bright and vibrant, as part of the health check.
The Council will then review the results and use them to contribute towards developing its parks, green spaces and countryside strategies in the longer term.
The park health checks can be completed online by visiting the website www.loveparksweek.org.uk/your-park up until Sunday July 29.
Cllr Jonathan Chowen, Horsham District Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Heritage and Leisure, said: “We think we have marvellous parks in the Horsham District but we want to make sure.
“So please join this consultation process so that we can maintain and improve the parks in line with the opinions of the many residents who use them regularly.”
