The event is being organised by the Royal British Legion with support from Horsham District Council to highlight the role and work of the Royal British Legion, other armed forces charities and local cadet forces.

Nigel Caplin, chairman of the Royal British Legion said: “I hope the public will enjoy the event on Sunday which we would like to repeat every year as part of the Horsham Time Well Spent calendar. As the Legion’s work in the community evolves it is important for us to raise awareness of our role and not just be seen around the time of Remembrance.”

A small selection of vehicles from the lineup at Capel’s Military Show on July 1 and 2 will create an impressive display in the Carfax. Show organiser Phil Harris said: “I am delighted to contribute our vehicles to Royal British Legion’s Sunday event and will also be in town on Saturday collecting for military charities.”

The event will begin at 11am with a parade of Royal British Legion standards, veterans and local cadets, led by the fantastic Surrey and Sussex Drum and Bugle Corp. They will march from East Street into the Carfax before performing in front of the War Memorial.

East Street and the Carfax will be closed to traffic from 7am to 4pm to allow this, and to leave space for the display of military vehicles.
