Horsham water supplies '˜returning to normal'

Horsham water supplies are returning to normal following a mains burst which affected homes and businesses across the district.

Southern Water said an 18-inch main burst along Five Oaks Road in Slinfold earlier today cutting off water to properties in surrounding villages and Horsham town centre.

Engineers have been on site repairing the main and water has begun returning to homes.

A spokesman for Southern Water said: “We are on site repairing an 18-inch trunk main burst at Five Oaks Road in Slinfold, and we are now seeing water pressures and flows returning to normal.

“We will continue to recharge the network and we very much hope customers’ water supply will return within the next hour.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate customers’ patience while we repair the leak.
