Horsham teenager charged with robbery


Three teenagers have been charged with robbery after a shopkeeper was attacked in Southwick.

At about 5.25am on Tuesday (June 30) police were called to a report of a robbery at Macfarlane’s newsagents in Southwick Square, Southwick.

Three people had entered the shop and attacked a member of staff before stealing bottles of wine and cash from the till and then leaving.

The shop worker suffered bruising to his back and arm.

Dominic Abnett, 18, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery, burglary and possession of a bladed item.

A 16-year-old boy from Horsham and a 16-year-old boy from Portslade have also been charged with robbery.

All three were remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, July 1).
