Horsham Stone await royal baby’s arrival to complete district’s sculpture

As the news that the Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted to hospital in the early stages of labour makes its way around the world, Horsham Stone is busy preparing the stone for the Royal Baby sculpture it has promised the people of Horsham town.

Local residents voted in an online poll to select their favourite of three designs. Now all Horsham Stone needs is the gender and name of the royal baby to be able to complete the sculpture.

The design – chosen by people of Horsham – depicts two parents in an embrace with their baby below, contained in a heart. The text says ‘In Celebration Of The Birth Of Prince/ Princess…’ it will be completed with the baby’s name and date of birth.

“The people of Horsham have been involved from the very beginning of this project and we hope that the sculpture will provide a focal point for local celebrations.”
