Horsham road signs branded an '˜absolute disgrace'

Drivers have hit out on social media at the disgraceful road signs in the district.

On the County Times Facebook page Debs Chappell described signage in the county as an ‘absolute disgrace’ adding that ‘most are dirty and overgrown’.

Neil Bird added: “You’re lucky you could photograph it upright- lots of them have fallen over - or are about to!”

Ray Killner said: “Yep all over the place and as hedges [are] not getting cut roads are getting very narrow and dangerous.”

Cliff Durant added: “They slowly disappear into the hedge when you’re not looking.”

David Drew said: “No can’t see them all too overgrown.”

Anne Davis told how a sign on the A27 is ‘winning at hide-and-seek’.

Jim Vallance added: “There are hundreds of signs just like this one all over Sussex and other areas too.

“There are also many arrow or sharp bend signs that are also hidden by foliage. It really is a disgrace.”

West Sussex County Council has been approached for comment.
