THE WINNER of Miss Sussex will be announced next week from eight finalists, with two of them hailing from Horsham.
Alex Webb, 20, who works as a bank clerk, and call-centre agent Grace Taylor, 19, made it through to the last eight after starting off as one of several hundred entrants.
Alex said: “I am thrilled to be chosen to compete in the Miss Sussex final next week. It is a brilliant opportunity to meet new people, experience something completely new and build on my self-confidence.”
Grace added: “I am so excited. I have not done anything like this before but it sounds like so much fun. Plus you never know what doors could open after competing in something like Miss Sussex.”
The final of Miss Sussex will take place at Brighton’s Revolution on Wednesday March 28, where Alex and Grace will take to the catwalk alongside her fellow contestants in three glamorous rounds where she will be scored by a panel of expert judges.
The winner of Miss Sussex will go on to represent her county in the grand final of Miss England in Leicester in June alongside 60 other girls from around the UK. The winner of Miss England will then go on to compete in Miss World later this year.
Along with a place in the Miss England final, the winner will receive a day pageant training, a photo shoot, model contract, a personal shopping consultation and a dress.
