Is Horsham full?

Do you agree with the assessment by two Conservative councillors that Horsham is full?

This week Christian Mitchell and Peter Burgess (Con, Holbrook West), wrote a letter to the County Times declaring that Horsham town is full and large scale development in and around the town, and that housing building had already gone too far in places.

Horsham District Council are currently deciding how many houses to build over the next 20 years and where in the district to put them.

Stategic sites floated by developers include 2,750 homes west of Southwater, 4,500 homes north of Horsham, 1,750 homes east of Billingshurst, 3,500 homes west of Ifield, and a 10,000-strong new market town east of Henfield.

The draft Horsham District Planning Framework was delayed in October 2012 and a revised timetable has yet to be announced for its publication for consultation.
