Horsham’s TSB has joined with charities and the council to raise awareness about cancer support.
TSB’s partners, local cancer charities and the district council wellbeing team in Horsham joined together, on Thursday November 22, to make people aware of the vital services on offer.
Louise Kensett, community champion at TSB in Horsham, said: “I organised the event to bring together a group of charities that could network together as well as with the community, they do incredible work that I wanted to recognise.
“We have really enjoyed raising awareness and working with local charities to able to offer their expertise to our customers and the community and it is fantastic to know the difference that our efforts will make.”
Jose Manuel, trustee at charity Jane’s Wish added: “TSB in Horsham have given us the chance to integrate in the local community and to join forces with other groups to offer support and days out for those in Sussex that are affected by cancer.”
Helene, trustee at charity Cancervive said: “We offer support to patients of cancer and their families face to face, through our telephone helpline or our online forum which is available 24 hours.
“This is the nicest networking event I have been to where people can sit and talk in a peaceful atmosphere.”
Sue, from charity Heather’s Horsham, added: “We are here for the Horsham Community to provide informal drop-in sessions for anyone affected by cancer, we do this in a safe and friendly environment, this event has been a privilege to come to.”
Marilyn from charity, The Olive Tree, said: “By having these events we can provide support to remove the scare factor related to cancer. We are in the process of moving into the Horsham area to support the local community.”
Vicki, Horsham Wellbeing team member added: “Its lovely to be invited to a local event to show the free local services that we offer as part of Horsham District Council.”
