Horsham business '˜extremely proud' to scoop best of the best street food award

A Horsham based business has won best of the best and best sandwich at this year's European Street Food awards finals.

Jah Jyot Punjabi won the accolades at the finals in Berlin.

This followed winning the people’s choice award at the national final in London and success in the regional rounds.

Ranie Sirah said: “I don’t even know what to say.

“We are extremely proud.

“We’re showing Britain can stand out with its street food.

“We started as a hobby only four years ago.

“It’s grown bigger and better than we ever anticipated.”

Conceived in February 2015, Jah Jyot aims to bring Sussex produce and Punjabi passion together to create the dishes that have tantalised customers throughout Britain.

The company won a Sussex Food and Drink Award in 2017 in the best street food category.

They were also shortlisted into the top three Asian restaurants in the South East by the Asian restaurant awards.

Ranie added that he and his team of Paul Jacobs and Adam Venn had worked ‘tirelessly’ to perfect their art.
