Horsham burst water main: What we know so far

Thousands of households across Horsham and businesses were left without water today following a burst main.

Southern Water said an 18-inch trunk main had burst along Five Oaks Road in Slinfold cutting off supplies to households across the district.

As well as those living in the town residents in villages such as Slinfold and Broadbridge Heath also reported being without water supplies with many flocking to stores to pick up bottled water.

Several businesses were forced to close with signs going up in windows of town centre premises. The Pavilions in the Park also shut for several hours but reopened again at 2pm. For more read this: Horsham businesses forced to close due to ‘water problems

Southern Water said engineers were sent to the site and worked to repair the issue which it claims could have affected thousands of homes across the district.

Water supplies are being restored to households and businesses and Southern Water has apologised for the inconvenience.
