A third horse has been seized from a farm near Pulborough in the second raid at the premises this month.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the animal was removed under Section 18 of the Animal Welfare Act, powers in relation to animals in distress.

Police were requested to attend Lickfold Farm along with RSPCA officers and a vet at about 3.15pm yesterday (Monday February 15).

This follows a raid at the farm, off the A283, on Monday February 1, where two horses were seized and placed under RSPCA care.

After the first raid, a spokesperson for the RSPCA said the charity had opened an investigation which was described as ‘ongoing’.
