Holmbush Farm staff race for life

An energetic team from Holmbush Farm World is currently in training around the farm – getting set for this year’s fund-raising Race for Life.

They’ve been running along with the daily goat races on the farm, pacing themselves against the frolicking lambs and bouncing on the ever-popular bouncing pillow trampolines to help improve their fitness and stamina ready for the big race day on May 25.

Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. Since 1994, it has been bringing together women of all ages and fitness levels to walk, jog or run to help beat cancer.

The ‘Holmbush Floozies’ as they are calling themselves will run the 5km in Tilgate Park, in Crawley. They include those who care for the Holmbush Farm animals and others who work in the tea room or behind the scenes, and everyone involved shares the common goal of raising money for Cancer Research UK. Pictured here preparing on the bouncing pillows are from the left: Erika Janus, Kathy Dugdale, Nicky Farnfield, Chloe Matthews (front), Katie Cornell (peeping from back), Joley Williams, Rosie Putland, Beryll Fulbrook, Jackie Tripp, Ruth Calvert and Louise Hurdman.

Holmbush Farm World is full of fun whatever the weather with plenty to see both inside and out including indoor animal barns, indoor toddler soft play area, hay bale climbing, sand pit, many imaginative outdoor play areas and the popular ‘bouncing pillows’ jumping zones. New this year are a number of additional climbing zones.

The farm, on the A264 at Faygate, has an extensive calendar of special events lined up for throughout the summer including magic shows, visiting clowns, circus workshops and snake, reptile and creepy crawlies events.
