The bombing of Hiroshima will be commemorated with a service in Horsham on Saturday August 6 morning.

Horsham Interfaith Forum members are inviting people to join them at Horsham Peace Garden, Denne Road, at 7.30am for a 7.45am start.

A statement from Horsham Interfaith Forum chair Carol Chambers said: “Next to the Horsham Drill Hall on Denne Road, you will find the entrance to the Denne Road Cemetery.

“As you enter, straight ahead you will see the Peace Pole, proclaiming ‘Peace’ in eight languages.

“Then walk on the awesome path under 100 year old cedars and redwoods to the flaming red flowers from South Africa which surround the plaque which says: ‘From Hate To Love, From War To Peace’.

“This will be the 71st anniversary of the Atomic Bomb that burst over Hiroshima and killed almost 100,000 humans.”
