St Catherine’s Hospice has a mission to care for more people in the local community and in order to enable this to happen they are recruiting more qualified nurses.

The Crawley-based hospice provides end of life care for people living right across the Horsham area

Jan Thompson has worked as a nurse at St Catherine’s for 18 months.

She said: “When thinking about what was important to me as a nurse, I realised it was the holistic care of the patient.

“I know that is a term that is bandied around, but for me it is the core of why I do what I do.

“We really involve family and friends in care and care planning, on our In-Patient Unit and especially in the community with the Practical Care Teams.

“I really enjoy the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of care and St Catherine’s is a place where it comes together for me.”

Further information, role profiles and application forms can be found on the St Catherine’s website

The closing date for applications is Monday July 1.
