Hairdresser makes hair raising leap of faith for charity

A Horsham hairdresser will be jumping from a plane to raise finds for charity, except she has admittedly never flown before.

Brave Della Balley, a salon consultant at Studio 2, will be taking on a parachute jump in support of The Sussex Air Ambulance charity on November 14.

The 26 year-old will be making the hair raising leap in a tandem skydive over Oxford’s pastures.

“To say I’m nervous is the understatement of the year.” she admitted. “I don’t know what it feels like to be in a plane let alone jump in one.

“I’m just focussing on the fact that I’m supporting a charity that provides a vital lifeline for people in life threatening situations.”

The Sussex Air Ambulance requires an estimated £5 million annually to stay airborne, receiving no statuary funding, the charity’s life saving service relies almost entirely upon the generosity of the public to support the two helicopters based at Marden and Dunsfold.

Last year the service flew fifteen thousand missions including two missions helping friends and family of team members at Studio 2.
