A dazzling and entertaining evening of Gilbert & Sullivan favourites takes place at St Mary’s House, Bramber, on Saturday, June 27.
Opera Comique sing favourite solos, duets and quartets from eternally popular operettas such as The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, Trial by Jury, The Gondoliers, The Yeomen of the Guard, and numbers from The Merry Widow and The Desert Song.
Among many venues across the country, Opera Comique have performed HMS Pinafore aboard HMS Victory and HMS Warrior at Portsmouth, and at W.S. Gilbert’s home, Grim’s Dyke.
In June this year, they perform for the Mary Rose Trust. Formed as a charity in 1976, Opera Comique have raised thousands of pounds for good causes and St. Mary’s is deeply grateful for their generous support this evening.
They have made several tours abroad, including Germany, Finland, and the USA. In October this year, the Company will perform The Gondoliers in Venice for the third time.
The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday 27 June. Tickets, which include wine and canapés, are £27.50 and can be obtained by phoning 01903 816205, online via the website www.stmarysbramber.co.uk, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
