Get fruity at garden centre

FRUIT lovers from West Sussex are being invited to a free event at a garden centre this month.

Old Barn Nursery & Garden Centre at Dial Post is hosting a complimentary ‘How to grow your own fruit’ advice clinic on Saturday, April 23.

Mig Ammolla, manager, said: “During the event we will have a display of fruit bushes or canes, trees and plants for people to see.

“Members of staff will be on hand to offer tips on choosing the right fruits for your garden. They will also be giving complimentary advice on how to keep them free from pests and diseases.

“Our horticultural experts will be able to answer visitors’ questions on how to make sure apples, pears and soft fruit, such as strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants, ripen successfully. They will also be offering advice on pruning fruit canes and trees.”

Also during the event, there will be a chance for visitors to take home a free leaflet on how to grow their own fruit and vegetables, while stocks last.
