GCSE success at Steyning Grammar School

HUNDREDS of students across the district are celebrating a day of GCSE success.

Steyning Grammar School saw 71 per cent of pupils achieving A* to C in English and Maths.

Exceptional subject performances were in Art and PE BTEC where 100 per cent gained A* to C grades.

In triple award science - Biology, Chemistry and Physics - 96 per cent achieved a C or above.

Phoebe Scarfield and Tom Chambers are both celebrating after boasting 11 A*s each.

Headmaster Chris Taylor said: “Once again our clear focus ton learning from all in the school community has confirmed us as one of the highest performing schools in the area.

“I am particularly pleased that the vast majority of our students will now move on to their chosen course of study or employment with a bright future ahead of them.

“I congratulate them all!”

Lindsey Thompson, Assistant Head, added: “We’re absolutely delighted with all the results - they’re a lovely group of people and they’ve had so much support from their parents.

“It’s lovely to see all the students with huge smiles on their faces.”
