MILLAIS School is celebrating a double success with record GCSE results and the news that it is one of only 100 Outstanding Schools nationally to be designated as a Teaching School from September 1.
Head teacher Leon Nettley said: “I would like to congratulate all the pupils and staff on achieving these record results which reflect their tremendous hard work throughout the year.
“The quality of teaching across the school is evident with over 89 per cent of pupils achieving five or more A* to C passes with 85 per cent achieving these top grades with English and mathematics.”
Meanwhile 70 per cent of students gained ten or more passes at A* to C and 37 per cent of all the grades awarded to the school were A or A*.
In the core subjects:
. 88 per cent of students achieved grade C or above in mathematics
. 92 per cent of students achieved a grade C or above in English language with 93 per cent also gaining C or above in English literature
. 75 per cent of students achieved two or more grade Cs or above in science
. 74 per cent of students achieved a grade C or above in at least one modern foreign language
. 50 per cent of students achieved the new English Baccalaureate standard.
