A group which has raised almost £11,000 in 18 months for Marie Curie Cancer Support is looking for volunteers to continue its work.

Since December 2013 the Pulborough and Surrounding Villages Fundraising Group has been raising money in a variety of ways including holding collections, stalls and events.

Its most recent event was The Blooming Great ‘Cricket’ Tea Party last month which raised a total of £558.34.

Member June Phillips said: “It was a fantastic afternoon and we would like to thank everyone who came along.

“We could not have achieved such success without the support and generosity of the West Chiltington Cricket Club, the cake bakers, and the very generous donations.

“We would love to recruit some more volunteers to join our group and for our collections and events. Even if you can only spare an hour here and there we would be very pleased to hear from you.”

Further events ahead this year include the Ashington Festival in August, the Pulborough Harvest fair in September and the Steyning fair in November.

The group also does regular supermarket collections.
