Lucy Hargreaves, employability programme co-ordinator, said: “It was great to welcome Ian and Lara back to Collyer’s to support our employability course, which is now in its second year.

“We have designed the programme to help students into the world of work with the help of taught sessions, workshops, trips and a host of guest speakers we have planned throughout the year.”

The aim of the sessions from Assurity Consulting is to help students, who are currently studying the second year of the course, gain an understanding of how to match and sell their skills, knowledge and experience in a covering letter or job application form.

In the sessions the students asked the experts about job applications, interviews.

They also covered practical tools and techniques to use when looking for employment.

The group were given advice and guidance focussing on planning for a job interview and how to predict the key questions they are likely to be asked.

Lucy Hargreaves added: “The level of engagement, confidence and enthusiasm shown by Collyer’s students was really impressive.

“Massive thanks to Assurity Consulting’s Ian Robinson and Lara Batley.

“They are absolutely amazing!”
