Firefighters tackle blaze in Southwater

Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze at a house in Southwater in the early hours of yesterday.

Three fire engines rushed to the scene in Woodlands Way just after midnight.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire was located in a ground floor utility room.

“Crews were able to keep the fire contained and extinguished.”

Firefighters continued damping down before leaving the property soon after 2am.
