Emergency services were called to reports of a smell of burning at a bio mass recycling centre in Warnham yesterday (Tuesday March 4).

Firefighters were called to the scene at Langhurstwood Road at approximately 12.30pm.

A fire detection system was activated in the three-storey building after a strong smell of burning was reported in the first floor plant room.

A search was carried out by the fire services using breathing apparatus and two thermal imaging cameras.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the building and no fire was found.

Firefighters left the scene shortly after 2pm.
