A tea cosy craze is taking over a Horsham store for one day when it gives gifts to cosy wearers as part of a nationwide campaign.

White Stuff, in the Carfax, is ensuring all its customers are bang on trend at the third annual National Wear a Tea Cosy on Your Head Day (NWATCOYHD) today, Thursday September 27.

The retail store will be hosting a tea party to celebrate the day and will even give small gifts to anyone who enters wearing a tea cosy.

Ten per cent of all profits made in-store on the day will go to the local charity for children with disabilities, The Spring Board Project.

Last year White Stuff raised more than £30,000 for charity through this campaign and there are several ways to get involved this year including buying one of the store’s tea cosies; knitting a tea cosy using the store’s downloadable pattern; or by wearing a cosy and tweeting a photo or posting it on the White Stuff Facebook page.

A nationwide ‘mugshots’ competition will ask customers to send in their tea cosy photos.

Four lucky winners will be awarded £250 to spend in store and £250 for a charity of their choice.

Each branch of White Stuff store supports its own local charity, helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Lots of celebrities are supporting the campaign including Jessica Wright from TOWIE; Jamie Oliver; Harry Hill; June Brown; KT Tunstall; Henry Holland; Jo Wood; John Rocha; Jimmy Doherty; Newton Faulkner and Ben Sheppard.
