THE PARISH of Beeding and Bramber are hosting a ‘bumper’ festival of harvest and flowers.
The festival will open on tomorrow (Friday September 23) with a Eucharist Service at St Peter’s Church, Church Lane, Upper Beeding at 10am, with a concert by the New Harmonie Musical Group at 7.30pm at St Nicholas’ Church, Bramber. Tickets are £6.50 and can be purchased from Beeding Newsagents and Steyning Bookshop.
On Saturday it all kicks off at 10am with a children’s scarecrow competition, a barbecue and barn dance from 4.30pm until 6.30pm, priced at £2 and the children can bring a friend for free.
Later on in the evening there will be a Hog roast and barn dance from 7pm until 10pm, it is £10 each and you can bring your own drinks. Both events will take place in the garden of the Rectory, Church Lane, Upper Beeding, and tickets are available from the Parish Office.
On offer over the weekend will be a raffle, tombola, bookstall, bric-a-brac and other stalls, with refreshments available all day everyday in the Gladys Bevan Hall, Church Lane, Upper Beeding.
Everything comes to a close on the Sunday with a Harvest Festival service at St Peter’s at 10am and later at 6pm there will be a closing evensong service at St Botolph’s Church, Botlophs Village on the South Down’s Way.
