Green campaigners from Steyning will join other groups for the London Climate March on Sunday (November 29).
Greening Steyning will take part in what could be the largest ever UK climate march, ahead of the UN Climate Summit starting in Paris on Monday November 30.
Groups from Worthing, Shoreham and Lewes are also set to take part and will link up with the Steyning contingent en route to London.
Dr Sally Barnard, one of the volunteers organising the Steyning marchers, said: “Judging by previous marches it should be an inspiring and fun day out for people of all ages, from toddlers in pushchairs upwards.
“When else do you get a chance to walk down the middle of Whitehall, cheering about something you really care about, and accompanied by a Greenpeace polar bear?”
Ronnie Reed said: “I’m joining this march because I want my children to have a future, and our planet too.”
Maxine Rawlings added: “This will be the first time I’ve been on a climate march but I’m making an exception because I want those at the top to listen, and realise how much support there is for taking action on the climate.”
The Steyning marchers will catch the 9.48am train from Shoreham Railway Station.
People can join the group there or meet in London on Park Lane, where the march sets off at 1pm. For more information visit www.1010steyning.org
