The first Foreign Languages morning for Horsham schools took place on Wednesday 4th July at The College of Richard Collyer.
The event was intended for all Collyer’s partner schools they were expecting at least sixty year ten students plus supporting staff.
Before the event head of Spanish Margarita Mortimer said: “Our aim is to have a fun morning with a wide range of activities in French, Spanish, German and Italian, in the target language, directed by our experienced Collyer’s modern foreign languages staff.
“We will focus on the Olympic Games and the morning will have an emphasis on the students developing an understanding of other cultures in Europe.
“They will particularly look at sports and European involvement in the 2012 Olympics.”
This was the first in a series of language events to promote friendship and cooperation amongst our educational establishments locally in Horsham and to help students in year ten with the transition into sixth form modern foreign languages learning at Collyer’s.
