Horsham and Deal Town will face off again in the FA Cup tomorrow after Saturday’s preliminary round clash ended all square in Kent.
A second-half Jordan Clark equaliser secured a 1-1 draw for the visitors after Town had taken the lead on the stroke of half-time.
The replay will now take place at Gorings Mead on Monday at 3pm, meaning that Horsham’s Southern Combination League derby clash with Loxwood has been postponed.
After losing Darren Boswell early to injury shortly after a Joe Shelley headed clipped the bar, the closest Horsham then came to scoring in the opening 45 minutes was a Kieran Pamment free-kick that was turned away by a diving save.
The hosts took the lead just before the break after what had been an even half, but a bit of sloppy play at the back by Gareth Williams led to Conner Coyne netting the opener.
New signing, former Bognor striker Terry Dodd and Kev Keehan came on at the break as Horsham looked to improve on their first-half showing.
The visitors did improve and levelled on 66 minutes as Clark headed home a great goal past a static defence from a whipped corner delivered superbly by Pamment.
Dodd then spurned a great chance to notch on his debut as he controlled another Pamment cross, but then blazed over the bar. With Dominc Di Paola’s side in control, Deal seemed happy to hold out for a replay and ran down the clock.
Horsham: Williams, Duncan, Jones, O’Hagan, Knee, Clark, Shelley, Lewis, Pamment, Murfin, Boswell. Subs: Dodd, Hadi, Charles, Farmer, Storrie, Keehan, Hunt.
