Dark puppet play at Brighton Fringe

Orson And Valentine, Daisy Jordon’s puppet play at the Brighton Festival Fringe, is not for the children.

Spokesman Jake Spicer said: “Orson And Valentine is a darkly-beautiful puppet play based on a French medieval folk tale, using hand-crafted table-top and shadow puppets to recount in miniature the captivating story of infant twin brothers abandoned in the woods.

“Whilst one brother is adopted and brought up in aristocracy, the other is raised by wild bears. Orson and Valentine grow up in very different worlds; unaware of each other’s existence, until the day of Prince Valentine’s first bear hunt...

“Performed to an original score of live music, this is a dark tale of brotherhood and estrangement, betrayal and love, and the struggle between nature and civilisation.

Not for young children. Parental guidance advised for under-16s.
